Are you a beginning farmer?

Do you want to take your farm operation to the next level?

Join us this spring for the 2022 Northern Piedmont Farm School!

NC Farm School is currently accepting applications for the spring semester and will be hosted in Durham County in collaboration with Chatham, Orange, and Wake Counties. Class sessions will begin Monday, February 7, 2022, from 6 to 9 p.m. and continue every other Monday for 8 sessions.

Classes cover subjects such as creating a farm business plan and strategy, exploring markets, creating enterprise budgets, financial management, and risk management. In addition to the classes, there will be full days of farm tours in each county participating. The farm tours are often the most popular part of farm school according to past participants because they get a chance to learn direct from the farms about their own experiences starting out.

The NC Farm School includes:

  • 8 class sessions
  • 4 Farm Tour days
  • One-on-one mentorship
  • Personal farm visit and guidance in farm business plan creation
