What is 4-H Summer Camp?

The mission of 4-H Summer Fun is to provide a safe, affordable, enriching environment where youth can learn and develop new skills and have fun while doing it! Students participate in field trips and other hands-on learning opportunities targeting agriculture, horticulture, leadership, citizenship, healthy living, and science.

How Do I Participate?

Below are the steps to participate in any summer camp with Durham County 4-H. Your application will not be complete until all steps have been completed.

Scholarships.

Durham Scholarship applications were due March 15. Notification of scholarship recipients will be sent out in early April.

Register Early.

Registration deadline is April 15. Space is limited for each camp. If you’d like to be put on the waitlist, contact Durham’s 4-H agent at amauney@ncsu.edu

Refund Policy.

You must notify Durham County 4-H at least 30 days before your camp begins to receive a full refund. If your schedule changes within 30 days of camp, you will not receive a refund.

Eventbrite Registration Links.

Registration in Eventbrite must occur AFTER the participant’s registration in 4-H online. Please select the camp(s) below and follow the link to enroll on Eventbrite. 

Cloverbud Camp: Ages 5-8 | June 12-16, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | Cost $35                     Young explorers learn about how to incorporate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in the great outdoors.

Babysitting Certification Camp: Ages 12-18 | June 20-23, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | $170      This is a perfect opportunity to start your own babysitting business! Campers leave with a CPR certification, strategic business plan, creative childcare activities, and marketing tools.

Sewing Camp: Ages 10-18 | July 10-14, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | $170                            Whether you’re a new sewer or an intermediate learner, this week will give all sorts of new skills to design and create fun sewing projects! If possible, campers are recommended to bring their own sewing machine.

Farm to Fork: Ages 13-18 | July 17-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | $150                               Explore different Durham farms in the morning and return each afternoon to practice culinary skills in the food lab!

Betsy Jeff Penn: (Ages 8-14) | July 30-August 4, overnight | $525                          This traditional sleep-away camp in northern NC includes activities like archery, horseback riding, canoeing, and much more!

Coding Camp: Ages 12-16 | August 7-11, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | $50                               Learn basic coding skills to create your own video games.
