Fall Is a Great Time To Test Your Soil

Not only has the weather cooled off a bit so you might not break a sweat digging all those spots up for a proper soil sample, but taking a sample now allows enough time for making some proper adjustments to soil pH required for optimum growing conditions.On top of all those reasons, getting a sample submitted before December 1 means you can submit the sample for free. Beginning December 1, 2021, through March 31, 2022, there is a $4 charge per sample.

"Why Is This the Case?" You May Ask...

it is because this is the peak season for farmers across the state to submit their samples mainly due to them having the time and ability to perform this task after the crops have been harvested.So don't delay, grab a small hand trowel or bulb planter and head on outside to take one of the most important steps to healthy, happy crops.

Need Soil Sample Boxes or Forms?

Just outside our building, located on the right side of the building is a bright blue cabinet. Inside you can get supplies as well as drop off your sample and our wonderful Master Gardner℠ volunteers will transport the soil sample to the lab.
