Herbicides are chemicals used to control or suppress weeds. Preemergence herbicides are applied before weeds germinate, and prevent the germinating seeds from establishing. Once emerged, many weeds may be control using Postemergence herbicides. Herbicides may be selective or non-selective; have contact action or systemic (translocated). The following resources have been developed to aid in selecting the most appropriate herbicide for the task.
