Durham County Cooperative Extension is hosting a USDA Resource Outreach regional Meeting on January 28th led by the KKAC Organization, a farming organization focusing their efforts on promoting land ownership for marginalized groups, in partnership with the Southeastern Improvement Association. The workshop will share essential resources to support farmers from the USDA, NRCS, and more.
This FREE workshop takes place on Tuesday, January 28 from 11:00AM-12:30PM at Cooperative Extension at 721 Foster Street in Durham. Lunch will be provided. Parking is free in the parking lot and on the street near the building. We invite you to attend in-person. If you cannot, the meeting will be accessible virtually via Teams. Those who want to attend virtually can use the link here or email the listed contacts to obtain login information.- Historically underserved farmers and landowners are encouraged to attend. The USDA defines historically underserved farmers as—beginning farmers (less than 10 years), farmers with limited resources, and/or socially disadvantaged based on race or ethnicity.
- Farmers do not have to live in Durham County to attend this workshop. Farmers in counties from the broader Triangle region and beyond are welcome to attend to learn how to protect their farm and future.
