Apply for Hurricane Agriculture Disaster Relief by Dec. 10, 2018
If you have suffered a crop or livestock loss due to Hurricane Florence or Tropical Storm Michael, you may be eligible for assistance through the Agricultural Disaster Program of 2018. For more information and to apply for the assistance program, please visit the Agricultural Disaster Program website. Application information, including ways to file for an extension, can be found in the blue column on the right-hand side of the page. The deadline to begin the application process online is December 10, 2018. To complete the application, you will need:
- A Form 578 on file with the USDA Farm Service Agency for USDA reported crops. This may be obtained from the Orange / Durham County FSA office located at 306 Revere Rd in Hillsborough. Please Contact Tina Miller (919-732-4301 ext 2) for more information.
- For crops not reported on FSA Form 578, a summary of loss with map and physical address of crops.
- For livestock/poultry loss, a copy of payment or registration of loss for USDA LIP.
- Completed W-9 for producer SSN/EIN.
Please note that it is important to begin the application online by close of business on Monday, Dec. 10 and that any applications begun by the end of day can be completed shortly after Dec. 10.
