Peggy Kernodle Receives 2018 Making a Difference Award
Durham Extension’s own Peggy Kernodle was one of the recipients of a 2018 Making a Difference Award from the Durham County System of Care on May 3, 2018 at the Making A Difference Breakfast at Durham County Health and Human Services. Peggy is on the staff of the Durham County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension as a Family and Consumer Science educator.
Peggy dedicates her work to strengthening families and working with them to build their capacity to learn and grow throughout their lifespans. Peggy’s work and advocacy has impacted families with school-age children as well as families addressing issues affecting the most senior members of their family. Her consistent, thoughtful, and caring approach is noticed by the diverse group of families she works with as well as her co-workers and community partners.
Peggy has never been one to “toot her own horn” and deserves to be recognized for the quiet, yet persistent, way in which she has dedicated herself to supporting and strengthening Durham Families every day for nearly twenty years. Congratulations Peggy!
