School Choice Workshops Start December 11

Durham County Cooperative Extension offers School Choice Workshops for any parent or guardian with a child who wants to explore K-12 public school options, including charter schools. The workshop helps families learn about choosing a school for your child and family. All workshops are offered at Cooperative Extension’s offices at 721 Foster Street on the following dates:

Friday, December 11, 2015, 12:00-1:30PM (English)

Thursday, January 7, 2016 6:00-7:30PM (English)

Thursday, January 7, 6:00-7:30PM (Spanish)

Friday, January 8, 12:00-1:30PM (English)



Each School Choice Workshop will cover:

  • What school options are available
  • What to look for in a school
  • How to evaluate schools based on your child’s and your family’s needs
  • Tips for the DPS Magnet School Lottery (DPS Lottery runs January 11-29)

All workshops offer drinks and light snacks. Lunchtime participants are invited to bring their lunch.
